Problem
Provisioning fails on a date field, for example hire date. The error says the value must be a valid date in yyyy-mm-dd format.
Cause
Freshservice expects dates as YYYY-MM-DD. Microsoft Entra ID can send the time as well, for example 2022-09-07T00:00:00.
Steps
Choose one option:
- Change the format in Microsoft Entra ID. Use Expression Language in the attribute mapping so that only the date is sent. Microsoft Support can help you write the expression.
- Change the Freshservice field from Date to Text. A text field accepts the value as it is.
Other formats, such as DD/MM/YYYY, time zone names or values with commas, are not accepted by Freshservice date fields. An empty value fails if the field is mandatory in Freshservice. Make the field optional, or make sure every user has a value.
